Kevin Schwantz - 1993 World GP MotorCycle Championship Title Tables

Finally, the world's most gifted 500 class rider managed to assemble the other ingredients that are required to win the title. Kevin has always had the talent, but is has taken years for him also to have a winning bike, a touch of good luck and the consistent high scoring finishes that make a World Champion.

The Texan looked like a champion from the very first, with a typically spectacular win in Australia. From then on his title resolve never faltered, and for the next nine races he piled up top three finishes with total consistency.

Schwant'z status now is that of elder statesman of the 500 class; but when relieved of the pressures of GP racing his personality is little changed from that of the carefree youngster who broke into full time GP racing after a meteoric rise from club racing novice to full bore national Super-bike competitor. It's riding talent that makes Schwantz special and at last it has had it's just reward.
